How the how much house can i afford calculator works
Lenders typically cap housing costs near 28% of gross income and total debts near 36% (up to 43–45% in some programs). We take the lower of the front-end and back-end limits as your maximum payment, then solve for the price where principal, interest, tax and insurance equal that payment.
